Spirit of Illusion

This is my newest short, Spririt of Illusion. It was shot for a 21 day film contest. Everything written, shot, edited, etc in a 3 week period...difficult to coordinate with everyone having full time jobs! It was shot on a 5d mark 2.

Please watch and leave comments. Believe me, I know there are alot of things that need work, but I'm just proud to have finished something!

Wow, great job.

I really enjoyed this. Some pretty good writing.

I felt like some of the lines were mispoken.

The lead character i liked his visual acting, but his voice sometimes sounded over or underacting (expressions were good though).

It didnt distract from the story however to much.

What did you use for audio? Im guessing that long shot was done out of the back of a car or something?

After watching the animatics thing, i like the voice over on that a lot more. Its a bit rough yeah, but id use whoever that was (even if it was the main actor just pitched down). Then just use the actors voice for actual spoken parts.

Really good stuff. Cinematography was great. Really nice audio. Loved the pacing and feel.

I thought your acting--especially from your lead--could have been better (he doesn't have a good voice for narration.) It kills the mood for the piece. Overall, though, nice work! I hope you do well.
