Spider-Man 4 in Talks

James Bond franchise.

even that... you got the first 4 connery movies, then On Her Majesty's Secret Service (my pick for WORST Official Bond film)... then you've got Dalton (who i don't like a lot), and Die Another Day (ok maybe THAT one is the worst of them)... so in a way, the Bond series has done good, but some have sucked as well.

I liked Tim Burton's Batman movies... In the third one he added Robin and than in the fourth one... He added Batgirl... So to me, that kept my interest... Well, the way they did it at least...

Tim Buton only directed the first two.

The rest are garbage, IMO.

As long as the creative team stays in place for the Spider-man movies, they will continue to be sucessful. The franchise could probably even survive with a different lead actor (but not with nipples on the spider suit).

even the nolan one junkie? you have to say if anything its a beautiful;y shot film wasn't it up for an oscar?

No, no, no, no ,no, Spidey... Sorry... I meant all the ones after Batman Returns, not including Nolan's. I consider that a restarting of the series.

Nolan's is one of the best superhero films ever. I can't wait until the next one.

Before reading this thread, I considered myself one of about three people on the face of the planet who didn't like the Spiderman movies. I think I've just about doubled that total, nice to know. :)

Now, let me try to explain why I don't like them when I do like movies such as the X-Men series (or at least the first two) and the Thomas Jane version of Punisher (although I think I may like even the Dolph Lundgren version better than the first Spiderman :p ). I was never a big fan of the Spiderman comics (well, at least until JMS started writing one), but I pretty much knew exactly where the first movie was going. Bitten by spider; check. Great power, great responsibility, check. Wrestling, check. Green Goblin, check. OTOH, I had read a lot of X-Men comics, and yet the first X-Men film managed to continually surprise me by offering different takes on the characters and situations while remaining true to the basic concept of the comics. The same holds true for the more recent Punisher--you could argue that Thomas Jane uses his brain at least as much as his Uzi in the film (the fire hydrant in the dufflebag bit is genius :) ), which is in line with at least the better portrayals of Frank Castle in the comics.

Oh, and in the category of film series that have gone more than three without sucking... there were several Star Trek movies numbered higher than three that didn't suck, although admittedly not enough... :D

spiderman is by the books becuase its trying to make fans happy.

x-men series is basically taking the people and doing what they want with them not connecting to any story from the comics except mutants = bad..

theres a difference dude.

Yeah, the difference is that X-Men 1 & 2 didn't suck, and Spiderman 1 & 2 did... :D (IMO, YMMV, and other disclaimers apply)

On a more serious note, though--the X-Men movies (or at least 1 & 2; the less said about 3, the better) made a lot of X-Men fans (including this one) happy, regardless of the approach taken. Similarly, the better Batman films have managed to rise above the sort of checklist approach that Spiderman 1 took even while doing largely the same thing--watching Burton's original, for example, I never felt the same boredom with it all (despite having a good idea what would happen next) that I did with Spiderman.

Hmm, I thought Burton did do Batman Forever and Batman and Robin... But I was just tryin to say... The way those stories evolved and added on... I liked that... Atleast Fantastic 4 is adding the Silversurfer so that should be hot... But... back on subject...

I liked the first two and I should like this one... Atleast there keepin up with the Green Goblin storyline...

well if you were fan of the comic it would be a different story im so pissed about the x men comic i just want to piss on fox.

I'll be seeing #3 in a few days, been trying to remain neutral to positive. In light of the various "less than enthusiastic" reviews, and that guy at freezedriedmovies, I still believe it was Raimi that made it a success- unlike the rest of the hero flicks. I read it was Arad that pushed for Venom 'Because the fans want it". I would rather see better character arcs, instead of multiple villains crammed into one movie. They should have worked the Venom and Carnage stories into a second trilogy, including Jameson bringing it back to Earth, along with the moon rock that changes him into...

oh whoopee! another overblown comic book film with bad cgi and an increasingly wandering and bloated storyline! I can't wait!

All I gotta say is that Dylan Baker must be the most patient motherfrakker of all time. Wouldn't it be hilarious if they used Lizard next but decided they wanted a bigger star to play him?

Spidey 4 I will be there...As For Tim Burton doing Batman Forever and Batman and Robin no way they may have been decent then. Nolan's Batman simply amazing along with Singer's X-men wow....Then Bret Rattner had to come along for the 3rd X-men :(.

I would have loved Spiderman 3 if they just took out a few parts.
