Raimi fell in love with the temp music that the editors put in. That's happened to me before, and I've gotten burned becuase the music was copywritten.

When images and sounds begin to mesh, it's hard to separate them.

It would be nice if Reed Richards made a cameo and contained the symbiote when it comes off.

funny thing is spiderman and the new batman are closer to the comics than xmen. like i have most of the unncanny xmen comics from 60-90's and the writers have taken out all the details made logan a wuss, charcters aren't even how they are in the comics. like mystic is not even aimportant charcter really. i think shes been like 10-20 comics her whole time. no gambit, juggernuant is too small, and wolverine killed his wife from japan.

The spidey movies haven't remained that true to the comics. I mean, how can you have a Green Goblin story w/o Gwen Stacy. She should have been introduced in the story way before MJ.
 
i think they are using the ultimate spiderman seires as inspriration too. he met MJ first and told her he was spiderman then he met GWEN STACY but she met demise to ultimate carnage so who know. so they are following both routes pretty good.

I like the explanations for the symbiote, venom, and carnage in the Ultimate universe. Makes more sense to me than space alien ooze. However I believe they are sticking to the original marvel universe's explanation for the symbiote. At least for the most part.

Still Bryce Dallas Howard as Gwen Stacy......

They could kill off MJ for all i care as long as BDH sticks with this series for more than one movie.

Why oh why did they ever cast Kirsten Dunce?
 
Peter Parker and Eddie Brock's parents worked together to create it as a cure-all disease and injury kind of thing.

The idea was the symbiote suit would do its thing and all but they couldn't perfect it and then there's the patented story element of intrusion from corporate greed and such (there might have been military interest...it's been like 2 years since i read the story arc so i'm having trouble remembering details.) However Eddie Brock and PP were childhood friends and Brock finds Parker in high school and reveals their past and their parents work on the symbiote which was locked in a lab somewhere. Of course Peter wears it somehow (sorry i forget) and trys it on and learns the problems and then Brock finds out his spiderman secret and wears the symbiote after Peter tries to get rid of it and Brock in a rage becomes Venom.


There's a really good Comic Compendium website that explains alot of this stuff in greater detail than i can muster. (I even feel like I'm mistaking some of my facts here and don't have the issues on hand to double check my facts but this is the gist of the story.)

I can't remember the Compendium site off hand but it might come up easily on a google search.
