GH5 Speedboosters work with wide lenses?

So I'm new to using speedboosters. I have the new Cine Ultra on my GH5, my Tokina 11-16mm doesn't seem to want to focus as all with it, just can't hit infitity at all. Is this normal? Does it not work on wide or some particular lenses? My other lenses seem to work fine. Canon 24-70LII, Rokinon CineDS etc...

I would not say it is normal but it is relatively common with this Tokina lens.

What you can do is to make a very small focal adjustment to your speedbooster, try a 15 degrees turn, that should be enough to fix it (make sure you record the original location in case you need to go back).

BEWARE: the picture from metabones does NOT apply to the ultra version, there is another screw for the ultra version (see the instructions).
 
Ok, that did the trick, there's a screw on the side of the cine version. Got the Tokina sharp as a tack now. Other lenses now focus past infinity unfortunately. This is my B cam so not as critical, but I'm using it for wides much of the time so it'll have to do.

It is better to shim the Tokina 11-16mm (there are shimming rings inside the lens mount) than adjusting the Speedbooster, if the Tokina is the only lens that has this kind of problem. There are (were?) how-to-do-it online tutorials.
 
Well I think I would need to "unshim" the tokina if that's even possible. Tried handholding the lens further from the mount that that worked in the opposite way, lens needs to come closer to the mount. Looks like adjusting the speedbooster brought the elements closer to the lens.

That's correct Jarek, it looks like you would need to remove some shim(s). It is still called shimming ;-) Best would be to put the lens on the collimator to see how much you need to remove.
