Hey guys..

anyone ever tried to add an adapter to the speedbooster to use multiple lenses? will it just screw the whole focus and stuff of it by adding another layer of adapter?

for example, I have the Speedbooster nikon mount. I want to get a A-mount to nikon mount so I can use my sony 16-50mm 2.8 lens. anyone?

... that's it ... I don't think you can use two adapters together.. as it change the distance from lens to sensor

I have that lens also, but isn't it just an aps-c lens?

Not 100% sure but I think even if you could use the 16-50 a-mount lens on the speedbooster it would vignette on the edges.

Since I have bought the canon 24-105 with speedbooster, I have hardly used the 16-50 A-mount on the FS700.

I have done this. I have a bunch of Nikon prime lenses (old AI-S manual everything lenses). I also have newer canon lenses (zooms, mostly). I own the Canon EF lens to Sony NEX speedbooster adapter. I currently use the really cheap Nikon F lens to Canon EF mount adapters (I used these for mounting my nikon lenses to my Canon 7Ds). This set up works. However, because of the cheapness of the nikon to canon adapters, there is a bit of play in the lenses in some cases. I will be eventually getting a second speedbooster adapter for going directly from my nikon lenses to my FS700, to make it more secure a connection, etc. etc.

I also have the EF to NEX SpeedBooster and use the inexpensive Fotodiox Nikon to Canon and Contax C/Y to Canon adaptors with great results.

My Zeiss Contax lenses never looked better and my Nikon 300mm ED f/4 lens also looks great.

One $599 Speedbooster is enough and it allows me to get an extra stop out of older glass. Nothing wrong with that!

Scott

it really depends on the quality of the adapters, and of the luck of your draw. i myself haven't been very impressed with the fotodiox or other $15 adapters for my c/y lenses. some are okay but others have play (or develop play over time). one even was scraping paint off the original lens mount. not sure about nikon but the c/y ones are secured to the lens by a very primitive spring.

the leitax semi-permanent adapters are quite expensive, but they're consistent and worry-free. worth it imo.

that said, the cheap tag-on adapters haven't screwed up infinity focus on any of my contax lenses. one would think their manufacturing tolerances wouldn't be tight enough. but maybe i've just been lucky or not observant enough.

I've used my speed booster with a dumb EF to Nikon adaptor (no problems) and a cheap EF to M42 adaptor which used to work fine, but is now causing problems (so I'm going to replace!)

i basically just want to get that extra sensitivity of the lens.. making it a 2.0.. so I see mixed results.. maybe I should just get one in BnH and try it out..
