speed ramping with the EX1 ?

Is it possible to do high quality speed ramping with the EX1 ? I've seen speed ramping before where the frames are interpolated in a way that just doesn't look good.
I'm looking for that really smooth ramping effect.
How is this achieved ?
Would it be done in camera or in a program like after effects ?

thank you: )

You can't speed ramp with the EX1. It would have to be done in post. If you're using After Effects, look for the "time remapping" tool.

you can ramp in FCP too. Shoot in overcrank and do it that way.

so in other words shoot at 60P (slow motion) and then in FCP at the point where you want to ramp up the speed to real time (24p) you begin removal of frames ?
How do you achieve this in FCP ?
thank you,
Michael

Overcrank doesn't = 60P. Overcrank is when you're shooting at say 1080 30p and then you "overcrank" by changing the S&Q Motion control to 60. There's a difference. :)

what's S&Q motion control? is that a function in After Effects or FCP?

It's in the EX1 menu settings (and the button that turns blue on the EX3). Does that help?

S&Q stands for Slow and Quick motion. When you shoot using it, you can just play back the clip in your camera and see exactly how it will look (slow motion, fast motion/time lapse)

Right i know what you're talking about now, but I don't understand what this has to do with speed ramping? I'm not sure how to achieve a speed ramp if not in camera.
My thought is you'd have to shoot everything at 60p and then in post (at the point in the footage where you want the ramp to begin) you tell FCP or After Effects to start pulling the frames out until it's "real time speed/24fps". Is that correct? Or am I thinking about this the wrong way?
