Spectre

I saw it the other night. I thought it was ok. The opening scene was outstanding. Great use of editing to make it look like one continuous shot.

Thought it was pretty good. What I found crap was the fkwit parents that brought a 6 yo in to see it. Kid was making odd kid noises the whole time and freaked out a couple times crying (one scene is obviously not really great for a small child). So I spent most the time listening to some kid instead of the movie. Why are some people so damn fkn stoooopid?

Finally saw it last night, and I was really disappointed. This was near walkout territory for me, and I might have walked out had I not been there with other people.

I wasn't over-the-moon for SKYFALL like many others, but that was great compared to SPECTRE, which I found to be bloating, boring and cheesy - almost to the point of being comparable to the lesser Roger Moore Bond films.

It's a real shame, because the trailers were great, and it's not like the trailers were teasing a completely different story than what was on screen. There were kernels of a great story scattered throughout the movie, but they were never assembled into anything worthwhile.

Christoph Waltz and Ralph Fiennes were woefully underused.

Here's an oddity; directly before Spectre was played they ran the fricken Bond MasterCard (think it was) commercial with Daniel Craig in it. What the hell? I thought that was very weird in a bad way.

I broke down, and finally shelled out to see it. Perhaps because I went in with such rock bottom expectations, I enjoyed it more than I thought I would. It's by no means a great Bond in the series, but it places in the solid top 25%, for me. I even liked it better than Skyfall, although I saw Skyfall on DVD, so maybe that colors things slightly. Fine acting throughout, even from Fiennes, whom I ordinarily can't stand. Action sequences were nothing to write home about, in fact somewhat underwhelming, but for all that, it made up with a nice linearity of development - things made sense (according to Bond movie world rules), and I wasn't cringing too often. Although I must say, the Bond song and the title sequence were some of the very worst of any in the series, like the bottom 2 or 3. All in all, decent entertainment.
