Specific ripple effect

Hi there, I'm after creating a decent ripple effect. I've posted this in the After Effects forum however it may be more more of an effect created during shooting.

Here is the (cheesy) effect I wish to create! At 0:42. Ignore the background. Just the way she ripples.

I've tried time displacement maps etc in AE and got ok results but nothing close to how genuine this looks.

Any ideas?

Thanks!
