Specialized Communications Website Redesign

Spec-Comm

DVXuser Sponsor
I would just like to begin by saying hello to everyone -

My name is Matt, and I am the newest member to the Spec-Comm family. I began this redesign my first day, and myself and my co-workers have worked quite hard on this. So it is my pleasure to announce that Spec-comm.com has had a face lift!

This change would be best described as clean and fresh, and we have tried to streamline the user's experience to the site and make information more readily available and service easier to schedule.

Enhancements include:

Improved Navigation – web pages are designed in intuitive and consistent ways, offering visitors ease in finding what they are looking for.

Improved Look and Feel – Enhanced graphics and new page layouts provide visitors with an improved user experience.

New Features – Current specials, featured products and live Spec-Comm Twitter feeds greet customers on the home page.

New Online Store Design – Easier shopping and comparing with the new store layout.

New Equipment Rental Page – Visitors can scan and select appropriate equipment on a single page.

New Service Page – Service customers can clearly schedule and track a repair or arrange on-site installations with a bright, new look.

In addition to these changes, our rentals selection has expanded and we plan to continue in this trend and supply more rentals to our customer's to thoroughly meet their needs. It is also worth noting we will now be more active via social media and will be more involved directly with our customers.

An official Spec-Comm Facebook has been made that you can follow us on, and we will be posting industry news and product information, along with Facebook exclusive deals. We will also be more active on our Twitter account for you loyal followers.

Finally, we are offering a treasure trove of new deals to kick the summer and new website off. So come visit us, take advantage of some great deals, and contact us. We are here for you!

If anybody has any thoughts or suggestions, by all means let us know!

It is great to have this opportunity to meet you all, and I hope to get better acquainted as time goes on.

Just bought two batteries from them for my HPX170. Had them on "special" two for the price of one using the new web design discount code.

Yeah, spec-comm has always been really good to these boards. I advise more people to check them out before running to the other major online vendors...

I've got some problems reading this new website. In particular, the "Spec-comm Twitter" box is overlaying the second paragraph of text in the first column.

I'm using Win7 and Firefox 3.6.17.

Seems to be a problem with the way your website responds to the Firefox increase text size commands. I typically run with my text sizes larger than default (I'm old and I actually want to be able to read your website when I visit -- go figure). This is, IMHO, something every web designer should test for (and yes, I used insist my web crew do this kind of usability testing when I was in the biz).

I'm just sayin' that you might want to get your web people to try Firefox and use a couple of "control +" and "control -" commands. They might be surprised.

Hello Bruce,

Thank you for your feedback.

While we have tested text size commands in various versions of Firefox / Windows, we have not experienced this issue in Firefox 3.6.17. Would you mind emailing me at matts@spec-comm.com with a list of your Firefox Add-Ons as well as a screengrab of what you are experiencing?

I apologize for any issue you may have experienced on our new website, and I hope to hear from you soon.

I would also like to to say thank you for the kind words, and battery orders placed. We enjoy being a part of the DVXuser community, and look to continue for many years to come.
