Spec Trailer for New Family Film Series

From time to time I scrape together some cash and shoot a trailer based on books I want to option. Here is the latest endeavor for a fantasy series I read when I was a kid.

Flying bikes, giant snakes, evil ash eating dead dopplegangers. Fun and friendly family fare! Sadly, the effects intensive stuff didn't make the trailer, but for the publisher I think it is an effective presentation since they are familiar with the stories.

This new free hosting site is lame (makes you wait 45 seconds to get the file), but the downloads seem fast. If it's really annoying I'll find a different server:

For reference, here is the book this is based on [link] My main goal was to match the bike and boy on the cover.

DVX100 of course. Shot in two days to try and cram in as many moments from the book as possible. Now that I'm done... anybody wanna buy a bike?

Some of the seens had a "hazy" feel, made it seem more professional to me. That and the tracking bike shot at the end, very nice! Best of luck with it's promotion.

Thanks for the comments... I think the "hazy" feel is just from the compression, but whatever works! That might actually be the footage.. it was a weird day... chilly and overcast, then SNOW, then sunshine the rest of the day. The one day I need to shoot it SNOWS. In Georgia. Sheesh.

Sadly, I believe I am in competition with an unnamed production company that has what some people like to call "financial backing." Oh well. They would have been fun books to work on... I've wanted to do them ever since I first read them. Timing sucks... just when I'm to a point where I could do the movies the 'family fantasy' genre heats up and people start buying options on everything they can find. I'm betting the publisher sells the option for a bunch of $$$ and the films never get made.
