Well for anyone in the MD/VA/DC area you can no longer go to spec-comm to get your DVX heads cleaned or any repair. They now only service DVCPro and P2 stuff with regards to panasonic.
That kinda blows because i'm about an hour from them and normally just drive out there get my heads cleaned and drive back all in the same day. They told me that panasonic has a dv broadcast repair center that specializes in that stuff so that's why they don't do it anymore.
I just called the center to find out about service. The tech on the other line didn't even say anything about the official dv service center but another authorized one in New York. Whom I then subsequently called and they charge more than $40 more than spec-comm plus I would have to pay for shipping to and from the center.
Just letting anyone in the area know what their options are which just became a whole lot smaller
