I basically had to come up with a concept.
This is not a finished ad, and I'll have to reshoot if it ever goes live,
but I had to come up with an idea for a new Norwegian cheese brand.

"Lyst" means "lust" and "desire".
In Norway, the milkproduct industry is basically dominated by one brand.
This is the "New kid on the block"
Please let me know what you think!

Shot in 720. Won't do that again...

It's here (11Mb) (please right-click & download)

Right.... 720 is nice.

I'm just kinda surprised how much better I find 1080. Up untill FCP in Euro land came up with an easy 720 solution, I've been shooting 1080. But I thought from the camera spec that 720 would look "as good". To me, it doesn't. Sorta.

Also downconverting to 720 after post looks (to me) a lot better than doing the whole thing in 720.

But I'm not intending to sour up this thing!

Nice.. Have you been shooting what flavor of 1080? 1080advanced? 24p or 30p? Your printshop footage looked stunning and does certainly make a good case over the 1080.. It's just such a data hot and cuts our shooting time down considerably... I am going to shoot a sketch next week on 1080 though.

What's been your settings and workflow? Do you downconvert before editing or after?

Thanks.

1080p 25

Printshop downconverted after editing was finished.

From what I see: Resolutiion and color (probably related as the higher rez gives space for more gradients) hold up much better throughout the process. While with 720 it doesn't.

The resolution issue is ( to me) obvious with the untreated data from camera.

I think the problem that I cannot make my Decklink card output 720p 25 data (not even as p50) adds to my woes. But generally:
I just like 1080 a hall of a lot more (than I thought I would).

It takes twice as much space, but hey... every image gets twice as much information to go with it.

I would say the concept is fun, you could push he idea a little further though and be even more playful. The close up product shot is bad, not very interesting and the shot keep repeating itself. Remember you are selling food, make it appetizing and sexy.

Thanks.

I agree on the prodshot.

The pitch went well, though... -;) so the file is offline to be reshot fo National TV -;)
