Spartacus: Vengeance

Big fan of the first two seasons. Something really satisfying about the tone, gratuitous sex, graphic violence, etc. I know they pretty much took the look and feel of 300 (grading, slomo ramping, style of violence), but it works for me. So far the new season is OK, but it just started.

The main actor isn't as interesting as Andy. He will be missed.

I thought the premiere was pretty good. More happened in this episode than in the first 10 episodes of Game of Thrones. I think the new actor was fine. He made me forget Andy Whitfield by the end of it. My only complaint is that he's a little underdeveloped in the chest, but I guess he was really skinny when they signed him and it took tremendous effort just to get him in this shape.

My only complaint is that he's a little underdeveloped in the chest...

I Googled "man boobs" to find a funny pic to respond with... I regret doing that.

(Am I the only one who finds it disturbing that they brought in a doppleganger?)

Damn! Just watched episode 5! That episode kicked unholy ass. Almost as good as the season one finale. The new guy won me over in this episode too. When this show is firing on all cylinders, it rocks. I have to say, as well produced as Game of Thrones is, I prefer watching this show. The plotting is better, they don't stretch story lines out, and they aren't afraid of burning bridges. Sometimes literally.

I guess I'm the only person watching this awesomeness...The last two episodes were both on par with last year's finale. So many unexpected turns. So many satisfying deaths. And Liam Mcintyre has really grown into the role and made a seamless transition from Andy Whitfield (RIP).
