Does this thread also prove that Larry really is crazy?! Do I have to find a new agent??

....at least that's what the other voices in my head keep saying :2vrolijk_08:

my thoughts...if they arent too late.

overall i like the music in 4 better than 3, but i like the mid-section (the rawk parts) of 3 better than 4's. specifically i dont like the transistion from "when all heroes are dead" title to her jumping down. and that whole next segment, the score just sounds too big and busy for my taste. i prefer 3 in this area. not saying that 3 is perfect, it needs lots of work, but i like it being more basic rocky there than over the top and mixing different styles. but then coming back to 4 i really dig the tunes in the "once a hero" segments through till the end.

when she does the irish whip with that one girl and you can hear the audio there, i think you should cut out the audio, in fact i would just use the fighting audio at the very beginning when the person is getting beaten by a couple people in the alley.

aside from music, when you show the guy's face looking up that turns green, it just bothers me that he's talking but you can't hear it, so im wondering if you have a better take of him "turning" that you can use from somewhere else?

for some reason too the main actresses fading in and out at the end bugs me too. doesnt flow well at the start somehow. i think if you fade once and put a title in there thats cool, but the 2 or 3 fades without anything in between im not really digging on.

sorry this is probably not that great a read, im a bit pressed for time right now and wanted to try and help. i like what you're doing here. nice stuff. im sorry i missed all the hero-fest days, but ill be looking forward to the final dvd version.

Hey John, never too late ... even if it can only be applied to the next project, I alwasy appreciate the input.

I agree to an extent about the rock music in 3 vs. that section in 4, but for me that rock music was just too repetetive & got old VERY fast for me. Though this section may be a hair over the top, it's got more of the chaotic feel that I'd rather have, and doesn't allow anything to really get old, like I felt 3 was doing.

Good point on when Meltdown's mouth is moving & we can't see anything. I like the FX, so I want to leave that in, but I'll play around with adding his line in there & see how it works.

Very good point on the fades at the end with the actress walking towards us ... that's supposed to be the final adjustment the composer's going to make is to add some instruments/music there to really support & DRIVE those images. They're supposed to be really powerful & dramatic, and right now aren't doing it because we're not hearing anything to support it. The spaces inbetween the fades are too short to put any visuals within without getting too busy/rushed, and would also not fit with the music.

DRAFT 4 - Voice Revision

John, think this is any better? I added his voice from the original clip ... starts over another clip, then syncs with his when we see him. This render also has some subtle added piano over when we see SPARROW walking towards us. I really like it a lot, but still not sure it DRIVES the images/fades like I was hoping. I'm either not coming across clearly to the composer, or it just won't fit & I'm trying to force something that isn't a big deal anyway.
