Spare memory cards for changing between patches

Those should be fine. I have been using old 256MB Sandisk cards from years ago for easy hack swaps in the field. I believe you can only save one hack to each card. When you load an upgrade, the menu only gives you an option to apply the upgrade - no way to differentiate between potential different hacks. They're cheap cards anyways, you'll be set once you buy a few!

Tanks for the help. I didn't quite phrase that last question right, I wondering if you card record the different video streams on the a same memory card? Such as load a patch, record video on SD card #1, load another patch, record a different type hacked video on to SD card #1?

You can record streams from different patches onto the same card, as long as the region is set the same. Always make sure you have two different cards for PAL 25/50 and NTSC 24/60 if you plan on switching regions in the field.

But I have had my GH1 freeze when selecting AVCHD "100Mb Max Latitude V2" patch streams for playback, after I changed the patch to "75Mb Peak Reliability and recorded some new video onto the same card without formatting. The streams copied off the card just fine, so there was no corruption. I'm not sure if this affects all types of video stream, or if it's an AVCHD (FHD) only issue; it's probably something to do with the encoder settings, or interlacing, etc.
