Spacer ring

I am looking for a 72mm spacer ring for my .4X 72mm opteka fisheye, but I don;t understand what I should be buying. Opteka wants 10 dollars plus shipping for one, but I know they are available cheaper.

I have seen a lot of "reverse macro ring" and "double male" or "male to male" and want to know if that is what I should be getting?

Opteka says that they are male on bottom and female on top, but I can't find any of these for less than 10 dollars anywhere! I've been told removing glass from a filter works, but I don't want too.
 
You definitely need a M to F ring since the camera is F and the fish eye is M. The spacer is usually just so the glass of the camera and fisheye dont touch each other. I just kept my UV filter on and it was fine with a fisheye. If you use both you may get vignetting.
 
Didn't you get one spacer with the fisheye?

If you did, then i wouldnt suggest using two spacers in total. I got a .4x 72mm opteka for my hmc151 and bought an extra spacer for it while i didnt realise that one spacer already comes with the fisheye. Two spacers caused vignetting on my setup.

If you didnt get one, the opteka spacer is pretty cheap imo already, you may wanna look into ebay auctions aswell.

No but that would probably be due to the fact that I bought it used. But I found one for 8 dollars shipped and bought it. I only went with 1 because I feel that is the perfect amount of distortion, with 2 you have too zoom pass the vig which defeats the purpose and probably puts more stress on the threads.
