This evening at our first meeting, Arnold Rameriz, the president of MCE Technologies which is based in Irvine California, will be demonstrating the MCE QuickStream DV.  You can read the product review by clicking on the box at the top left of the home page.
We are also going to hear a short presentation about finacial planning for independent filmmakers by John Berry, vice president of Primerica Financial Services.
Craig Kitchens, owner of Hometown Productions will speak about upcoming events, funding digital films and distribution of digital movies.

Re: Southern California January Meeting Update

Good meeting. Everyone here that didn't come, missed out on a good discussion and good presentations.

The MCE QuickStream DV demonstration was good. It looks like a very solid product that is better than most of the other direct-to-HD solutions. Plus, Arnold even gave us retractable firewire cables for free! It doesn't get much better than that.

So if you didn't come this time, make sure all you SoCal DVX users come next time, you never know what you might be missing out on.
