source for rig components?

Does anyone know of a good (or great) provider of rig parts, like rails, cheese plates, grips, etc.? I am frustrated shopping eBay, going to individual importers only to find inferior or inadequate components for building a rig.cage system. Thanks for any help here.

any company that makes rigs will have individual components. of course, the difference between good and great will come with a pretty big price difference.

but if youre just looking for a multi-purpose pile of handy parts, it will be VERY hard to beat this kit for the price:

that pile of parts will build any of their basic rigs (grips, cages, off-sets, etc..). ive used it and built several different rigs for different needs. and it works pretty well. and in some cases VERY well. now its not going to be as slick as the higher-end, pricey competitors. but if youre just looking for something that does the job for a decent price. it would be my first choice

Check out the parts/rigs from Berkey Systems. I always check their products first when looking for parts of my rig. For the quality you are getting, i think it's a good price to pay for.

+1

And Brian's gear isn't just superbly made, it's so easily interchangeable you can switch components around to build just about anything you can think of.

I know how frustrating it is to switch between sellers when all you want is a regular retailer that delivers on quality.

I always find that buying from the same company works in your favour. Once you build up a relationship with the supplier you can sometimes get better deals and you can get an idea of their regular delivery times etc.

I’d personally recommend taking a look at the DSLR Rigs section of FastForwardTime.co.uk. They stock; rods, base plates, rig bundles, matte boxes and rig power accessories.

The rig bundles are great and even feature a ‘Build your own Rig’ option allowing you to build a rig that best suits what you need with the prices listed next to each accessory. They even build your chosen rig and ship it out to you.

Let me know what you think!
