Sounds problems: HVX-200, Sennheiser, and Lite Panels

I was shooting the HVX-200 with a Sennheiser mic - on location - and using light panels.

For some reason I could hear sound from the lite panels in my headphones. Is this a problem with the HVX? because when I use the internal mic I don't have sound problems anymore?

I used Litepanels with a Sony Electret Condensor shotgun mic with no problems. They were literally on top of each other.

Can you hear any noise coming off the light? Maybe you had a bad connection.

Could be a bad litepanel. a bad ground, bad xlr, dieing batteries, not crossing your audio cables with power cable(running parallel instead of perpendicular). There's a variety of possible sources of interference. Go through each item one at a time and troubleshoot.

How did you check it was the Litepanels the sound you heard was comming from?
Sennheiser wireless or wired?

If your light panels are flourescent tubes, they will have a device in them called a ballast, and they have a tendency to hum or buzz when they are going bad.
