Could somene tell me how to delete the video track..but leave the sound track in place. Basicaly I want to use a soundtrack from a video...and put other video with it. Vegas Pro 9

Thanks

Click the video track and press "U" (Ungroup.)

Or, to bring in ONLY the sound, right-click and drag the clip to the timeline. When you drop it, a menu will pop up -- choose "Add audio only over time."

An easier way is to do the following:

OPTIONS > PREFERENCES > EDITING > unclick "Cut, copy, and delete grouped events" > APPLY

By doing this, audio and video always stayed lined up, but you can also always either click on the video or audio (whichever you want to delete) and keep only the video or audio track. If you use the method of clicking "U" on the track, you have to click "U" every time you want to delete an audio or video track while keeping the other.

If you use the method I've mentioned, you always have the option of deleting audio or video tracks when you want to isolate them... and it's better than IGNORING GROUPED EVENTS because audio and video won't stay lined up when you IGNORE them...

I frequently overlay video with audio that doesn't necessarily go with the track it was captured on, and this works fantastic! Hope this helps.

or just grab the top of the audio file and drag it down which lowers the volume. then you can add another audio track.
