How are Zeiss Makro lenses in terms of DOF?

I don't have the Makro's but I have the all the other zeiss primes, and I think they are very sharp and selective. I use it with my brevis, and I've prefer them over my old nikons but who wouldn't if money was not a factor. Unfortunately, it is, which is why I haven't purchased the makro's. You can get comparable image quality on your 35mm adapter for significantly less.

Their 2/100 makro lens which seemed to be late with its release (or may have just recently been released) is said to use a cinema lens style assembly, based on arri lenses. Their website states "ARRI/ZEISS prime optics" on its description. I read somewhere they specifically tout its edge over the other lenses in terms of selective focus. Sounds like a perfect lens for 35mm adapter use, save the hefty price tag.

If you wanna drop $1700 for that selective focus, I'd be interested in hearing your hands on experience with the lens.

Its not that the DOF is shallower or anything. its that its a better performing lens, interms of Contrast, color clarity, sharpness. Also, coming fomr Zeiss i bet they are a matched Set. meaning the color, contrast etc, all match eachother. you dont change looks when you change lenses. Thats a common occurance with older Nikkors and Canons. Though if you try you can make up a matched Set.
