Sound Splicing

So If I'm editing two cameras angles into one film, but the people are wearing mics, do they need to wear two mics each? one for each camera (I doubt it) or can I use video from each cam alternatly, but sound from only one throughout?
Probably a naive question, but I'm a naive kinda guy!
Oh and how do you like Avid Liquid on a PC or Adobe Premiere on a MAC for this?

The answer would be to have your soundguy feed the mics to his mixer and out to both cameras.
