sound skip

Trying to transfer some footage for a friend, shot on some crap camera of his. For some reason the sound is skipping when I play it back... apparently it playes back perfectly on his camera. He has no firewire port, otherwise I would use his camera to import it. What is the problem... is it a matter of camera settings. Help would be much appreciated

Sounds like someytihng to do with the audio mode during recording. There's 12 bit or 16 bit. Maybe he used one, probably 12 bit, and your camera is expecting to play back 16 bit. So when you play it back on the other camera it might skip. Im not 100% on this so check with someone else, but I would check the audio settings on his camera. Hope that helps!

Thanks for getting back to me. Good tip. Made the adjustment, slightly improved, but still getting digital noise upon import. Ideas??
