Can someone plz help with my ag mc 100 mic. I was recently recording a show, using my DVX 100B and a sony vx9000. The sound quality from the sony is far much better than the DVX. Just 2 bad that the DVX was the main camera and I used the sony 4 cut aways... When it comes to music, it is not bad, but when the MC speaks... his voice seems as the poor guy is suffocating. Any idea from someone... Same problem occured in a church while recording a wedding... Furthermore, I am planning to shoot a short movie soon... I have made a boom (I have seen people using it ... but doubt if the observation was right!!)

thx

Hi SS, I assume the AGMC100 was mounted on the camera at the time. How far away from the MC were you?

Good guess for the SS. From my car's reg. to my company Studio S. even my surname starts with an S... to my formal signature as well... The AGMC100 was on the camera indeed.... I was on n off in a range of 10feet to 25feet from the MC. As I was shooting a 2hrs show to convert to a clip of 52mins, I was moving from side to side so as to get different angles and to make it a multi camera feel...

Ok cool, how far away was the Sony, was it facing the PA system speakers, and was it using the onboard mic?

Also, why were you able to simply use the audio track from the Sony and sync your DVX video footage to it? It would be a tedious process for a 2 hr finished product, but I've done it. It took me about a day. I would sync the cameras based on what was being said in the audio, and overlap the good video from my camera on top of the good audio from the other camera.

The DVX was in the centre of the hall, on a tripod. Whereas the Sony was moving from right 2 left. i was using the onboard mic. Now that I think of if, the diff between both Mics "I guess" is that 1 is Unidirectional n the other Omnidirectional. I guess that nxt time, I will have 2 attent the final rehersal, do a sound test, locate my MC 100 (if need be off camera). But it would be good to have a faster option as sometimes all is not as planned... Still, what do u recommend?

As 4 the editing, I had 2 use the sound of the DVX, (after applying some filters), as the footage from the sony was 10 2 15 seconds intervals
