Sound production headphone - how many?

I have the Sennheiser HD 280 Pro. However, it occurred to me, that maybe a sound kit ought to contain more than one production headphone set out in the field; what if someone else wants to hear or monitor the recording, passing the same headphones might not be ideal. Is it sensible to have 2 - or more! - headphones on a project? Also, if you ought to have more than one, should both be the same make/model, so that both (or more) people are hearing the same hardware so one less variable is involved, or is it more sensible to have a different make/model so that you can have a different reference point to eliminate possible bias of a given make/model? For example, I see the Sony 7506 is very popular with the pros, should I get that also in addition? How many headphones do YOU carry into a shoot on any given day? Thanks!

I have around six sets of the sony MDR V300 and find them ideal for production and anyone who needs to listen in, they are low cost so if they get damaged it is not too bad, they also have long cables so people don't feel too tethered to the headphone amp. I also have some of the V150 for general coms monitoring but the V300 have an excellent sound for the $$$

I also use the superlux HA3D headphone amps on set as they are low cost, battery operated and give three independent outputs, the director or other more critical people tend to get the 7506 via a wireless trantec stereo IEM system.

I carry an additional set for backup, and a small battery powered amp/speaker for PB, if the client wants to monitor whilst recording, I'll set up an IFB... of course the client is charged for the additional gear.
