sound problem HVX200 - me66/k6

hello,
I have the hvx200E. I have noticed that when i use my senheiser k6/me66 shotgun microphone the audio gets too fast in distortion. I set the audio dial on 2-3 (so very low) but still whenever people speak a little bit louder than normal i get a distortion. I used the same microphone with my previous camera, the DVX100BE and there was no problem at all. I checked the microphone recently with another camera and it worked fine. So it's something in the camera which i can't figure out.
Does it sound familiar? Can anyone give me a tip or a helping hand?

What dB level are your inputs set to internally? What frequencies are clipping? Have you tried turning on ALC?
