Sound output to ext monitor ???

Hi,

I seem to be having a problem with the sound output on an ext monitor - sometimes I plug the dvx into my 14 inch little tv & the sound is there & other times when I am round other peoples tv's etc - there is no sound ??

Is there a setting on the dvx that mutes the output - that I keep on touching or is it faulty ?
Also is svideo a preferred method for monitoring thru ext ?

Cheers for any help - I have tried a different phono rca cable also with same results ???

stupid answer.. but have you made sure to turn up the volume..?

on the cam & on the TV - yes.
Maybe I have a freaky pair of cables - should I buy an svideo ?

I was hoping someone would say - "its a mute switch" or something but maybe it is my cables or a faulty output on the DVX - damn - I hope not :-[
