Sound Distortion using wireless mic system

I was wondering if anyone could give me some advice with this problem. I'm using the DVX100A and a Sennheiser EW 100ENG G2 A wireless mic system. I just used the mic system for the first time and found I could not get rid of the distortion on ch1. What was really annoying is that I had no choice but to shoot the event with this set up. When I got the tapes home and started to log the tapes for editing I could really hear the distortion on that channel. I spoke to a musician friend who also does some sound work about this problem. He worked with me on the system and we found that the camera puts out good undistorted sound if you plug a reg mic right into the XLR for channel 1 on the DVX. You also get good undistorted sound if you plug the headphones right into the wireless mic system. We tried every configuration with the switches, settings and levels. The only thing we could figure out is that the 3.55 mm mini jac to XLR cable has some sort of impedence mismatch. Has anyone else had this problem? Does anyone know if there is any sort of box to convert impedence? Any words of wisdom would be appreciated. I have to shoot an event in 2 days and really need to come up with some solution. Thanks in advance.

I've got the earlier version, the Evolution 100 system, and it works perfectly well with the DVX. Perhaps you had the line/mic switch set to the wrong level?

If you can hear your mic in the headphones it means you have line level out from the receiver. Switch the input to line and adjust the level. The switches are on the front of the camera, just in case.
