Sound Devices MixPre-D!

I have a question.
Ik am a camjo and own a Canon 5D Mark2. But the Audio cant be monitored live, while recording or while on live view. Can i hear the audio with live view while recording or not be recording?
Can i change batrterys of the canon while its attached under my camera?
 
Nevermind, i tested it. There is monitoring of the mixpre d but not what the camera records. If you dont plug the dslr into the mixpre you hear sound of the mixpre
 
There may be an av cable that could allow you to hear what the MkII hears. They have one for the T2i that plugs into the camera's USB. There could be the same thing for the MkII, but I'm just guessing.
 
WELL
nice tread, but none addresses the sound quality difference between the Mic Pre D and the USBPre 2.... If any. The USBPre 2 is cheaper, I guess because it has no internal power but is there any sound difference.
On paper it seems like the USB Pre 2 has higher grade converters and very slightly better Signal to noise figures. How does it translate in real world_?
