Experienced Sound Mixer/Boom Operator - Affordable Day Rate
I have been an sound mixer and engineer in the film industry for the past 10 years and recently got laid off from my day job as a studio sound engineer and am thus putting myself on here to pursue my dream of becoming a full-time sound mixer and technician in the independent film industry.
Although I have been freelancing for the past decade or so on a gazillion different sets, my rates are really really affordable at $130 per day, $300 for 3 days, or $500 for a week (6 days). I am also willing to travel to anywhere in LA, Orange County, and the Inland Empire or beyond, within reason.
I come not only with a degree in sound engineering, but also an expertise on set not only from a sound perspective, but also as a former camera operator, stunt coordinator and armorer. I also have also worked with audio on and have shot with different cameras (Red One/Epic, 5D MkII, 7D, T2i, DVX, HVX, EX1, EX-3, HPX, G2, XHA1, XLH1, XL2, JVC HD100/110, etc.) and have all of my own equipment that I both mix as well as boom on (So you don't have to hire two people):
EQUIPMENT
16' Carbon Fiber Boom Pole
Rolls 422 Sound Mixer
Zune H4N Flash Recorder
Sennheiser MKH-60 and 66 Mic w/ Dead Cat (This is an amazing mic)
Wireless available, will go rent for production (reimburse costs)
Audio editing services also available: Digital Performer, iMac/G5, MOTU 828 MkII, Final Cut Studio, etc.
5DMkII (24-70, 70-200 2.8L series lenses)
I have very indie friendly rates and am open to both long as well as short terms hires. I know you can always find really cheap a sound ops on craigslist, but I can guarantee that none of them will have the same level of professionalism, experience, and passion that I bring to the table.
You will not be disappointed, so PM me today, or e-mail back the ad with any questions or inquiries.
Resume and numerous recommendations available on request as well. (Some of them are members here)
Thanks!
