SOS just bought a OLY 35-100mm and a DMW-MA1 adapter NADA

Hi, Please need some help, I just bought an olympus 35-100mm and a panasonic DMW-MA1 adapter.

when I used them on my GH2 I get the "Please check that the lens is attached correctly" I disable the shoot without lens on the menus but still received same error.

also notice that the manual focus on the lens doesn't work, is this normal to happen if there is no contact with the camera?

Shoot without lens should allow you to shoot even if the lens is not on there. Make sure your shoot without lens option is still turned off. If it is then try to adjust the adapter and the lens. They are probably just not seating correctly. I have heard of this happening before. I hope you get it sorted out. That is an expensive lens to not be able to use.

"Shoot Without Lens" is not required - a Four Thirds lens with the Panasonic adapter will communicate with the camera just as a Lumix lens does. However, the Olympus 35-100mm f2.0 lens requires Olympus firmware update v1.2 in order to communicate with Panasonic camera bodies. More details at this link:

Thanks for the info I tried to update the lens but for somereason I can't do it with the Panasonic Body, looks like I will need to do it with a Olympus camera

Doesn't it say on the site that it specifically needs the Pana body and NOT the Oly body?
