Soooo... When is S-LOG coming out in the firmware for free?

So I read on here a little while ago that the S-LOG curve was going to be free in an upcoming firmware update... if so when is that update coming? any clue?

I want to know either. I've been waiting for s-log card for more than a month now ( I am in Australia).

New firmware might be available before I have my s-log card :Drogar-Mad(DBG):

I just got my S-Log card from Videocraft this week. I thought of cancelling it but thought I'd stick with it. I've now got another SxS and I understand the S-log upgrade does a few things more than the standard firmware upgrade.

The paid S-Log($3,800 or $900) also gives you the LUT's and ability to go 444 out over dual SDI. At least that is what I've read hear numerous times.

Wouldn't a S-Log LUT for Resolve be helpful?
How are you guys converting your LOG files to a linear workflow for color correction?

For those of us that have already purchased the S-Log option is there anything else we can expect from the 1.4 firmware upgrade?

As far as I know, you will not get anything more than what you already have.

Thanks for the link, will definitely check that out.
BTW, I know a good colorist can eyeball this, or I can build a LUT of my own, but I was hoping that SONY gave us their mathematically correct reverse curve for S-LOG.

Thanks Doug.... Are the V-LOG settings your custom settings using the S-LOG curve? Kind of like a baked-in LUT? (for lack of a better description)

EDIT: I just read your description on Part 1. Thanks for doing these tests. I'm looking forward to the upgrade.
BTW - Is my analogy of your V-LOG being like a baked in LUT correct? Is that a good way to think of it?

I guess you could think of it as a LUT, but it's really just a picture profile that uses S-LOG as the gamma choice rather than one of the Cine Gammas.

Hi Doug, LUT or no LUT I have another question. If I order a FS700, give your DVD or Book about the FS 100, sufficient information that is usable for the 700?

Good question, but I don't know the answer because I haven't had an opportunity to put an FS700 through it's paces yet. I suspect that there are only a few differences that would even be worth noting.
Thanks for asking.
