Sony Z7 SD lens on HD camera

Hello,

We have at university a Sony Z7, and i was wondering wether it would be better to use a manual Canon lens, cant think of the name was about 1200 a couple of years ago or use the stock lens?

I heard that HD lenses should be used because they magnify more resolution onto the sensors? is this correct?

HD lens should be used because they are meant to have more precise optical qualities. Having said that, a high quality SD broadcast lens tends to hold up very well compared to the stock lens (which either says the high end SD lens is almost a real HD lens or our stock lens is better than a $20K SD lens of a few years ago...)

There arn't any where near enough lens tests around. Lots of camera reviews, no real lens info...

if it's a 2/3" lens expect a magnification factor putting it on the z7. Think you are wrong section by the way
