Sony Xperia Z5 Premium 5.5" 4K smartphone with 4K display !

What Sony doesn't tell you - and I am not watching all the videos - is that, according to a reviewer, it doesn't get hot when recording 4K. And that's a big step from the previous models.

The large 3430 mAh battery and up to 200GB microSD card support should be good for 4K recording.

This. Unless they put input ports on the thing, I don't see the point of a 4K phone screen.

Agreed. I am a mobile app developer and retina @2x resolution is already extremely small pixels beyond what a human eye should see. The newer larger @3x resoltuion devices are absolutely insane. A 4k display on a 5.5" phone means they must be using @4x graphics which is just getting silly now. Beyond 300dpi the human eye just cannot see any extra detail so its extremely pointless. I have made apps for @3x devices that still use @2x graphics and nobody can tell the difference. We are talking microscopic pixels here. To be honest I'm not even sure if a 4k monitor this size would even help with focus. We are talking detail so small you wouldn't really be able to tell the difference between small focus differences. Of course a 1080p monitor would have the same issue so it isn't like it would hurt at all. It would just be pretty much the same.

Now where a 4k monitor could really shine like this is by using a loupe. Thats when you really could have those 4k pixels blown up to see all the detail. A good quality optical loupe on a 5.5" 4k HDMI monitor would be sexy.

Heh .. it's only 808 PPI .. Samsung and LG are working on a 2,250 PPI display ... for the 2018 Winter Olympics, to be held on South Korea ... pixel peeping? ... fohgedaboutit ... if you forgot to bring your microscope with you, you're out of luck ...

I'm completely sure it wouldn't help. I was thinking about one with a loupe, working as an EVF. Otherwise, too dense, nobody can see the difference.
