I've seen it. Nice piece of glass. Byt yes, there are other alternatives in re-housed Tokina 11-16. Note, however, that it has the Cooke interface for transferring lens metadata. That's worth something.
The Cooke interface is nice, but $4k more than the Duclos?
On my December vacation I went by NYC and stopped at B&H to give my wife time to go shopping and buy tickets to Radio City. Anyone that has gone to NYC knows how expensive parking is. B&H has free parking when you buy something so I bought the Tokina 11-16mm f2.8 $760 to get a free parking. (My wife didn't believe it either). The point is I haven't use the lens. It is very specialized.
Are any of these secondary Sony lenses going be worth the money?
They all seem vastly overpriced to me. I'd love to have IS and electronic connections. But, there are so few times its really needed and at that price I can buy an entire EX1R and have IS. I wonder what their total sales of those secondary lenses are? A few to rental houses?
Maybe I'm not typical. Has anyone here ever bought one?
