Sony video files help

Hi Everyone

just upgraded my FS700 for 4k. I also have a new mac book pro. I can't find the files on the recorded card on finder. They show
up on the fs700 but can't "tree" past where it says SONY on my mac. Worked fine on my other computer and before the upgrade.

Please Help

Clipwrap is a great app if you don't use an NLE like FCPX or PP.

You have to rewrap the mts files to see them.

Even with the upgrade you can only record HD internally not higher res files.

Yes the Card mount's on to the desktop. When i open it. there is a folder titled Sony but missing is the AVCHD folder. It shows up fine on my friends machine which is a 2011 MBP.

Okay so i figured out that it is the new OS mavericks. The normal AVCHD folder that you have after the private folder on the card is now replaced with a Quicktime Symbol and its says in Get Info AVCHD Content. So i can't access these files in the finder window so i can drag the ones i want onto my Video Drive. Any suggestions???? I can't find any options for making any changes.

Simply right-click on the quicktime symbol and select "view content" navigate through the folders and you will find all *.mts files.

If you just copy the mts files, you don't get the meta data in the files. And some clients may have a hard time extracting video from mts files.

As I stated earlier the best way is to let your NLE like PP or FCPX ingest the files. This is a very fast process and it retains the meta data.

Or use a program like Clipwrap to rewrap. Also very fast and then you have .mov files.
