Why is it that I throw footage into final cut pro and I get 4 channels of audio with Hvx-200 footage, but when I throw the same clips into Vegas I only get 2? I need those other two channels!!!!

anybody know ?

thanks

you can add them by right clicking in the next available space in your timeline and click "add audio track", or something to that effect.

Sorry, I mean 2 stereo Channels on the HVX-200. One channel was wireless mic on the character and the other channel was the shotgun mic. Only the wireless channel is showing up in vegas. I need the 4 audio tracks(2 channels)in vegas.

hmm..i have the Canon A1, not an hvx but i do have Vegas, and you should be able to create a custom timeline with preferences that allow for 2 stereo tracks(track 1, L+R, track 2 L+R) to be standard on your timeline, just as you would for frame size, frame rate, etc. beyond that, i may not be much more help to you man

i'm just diggin' into Vegas myself, though i've had my cam for a year and 1/2 hahaha

I have tried all the preferences in the audio tab. I don't think you can. Its crazy the more professional gigs you get the more Vegas doesn't pull through and then you find out you have to get some plug -in to make it work(p2 maker...etc..)

I suggesting just going FCP. less sweat and I wouldn't be sitting here posting a topic.

I have been using VEGAS since 3.0!!! crazy!!
