Sony Vegas Pro 64 bit keeps crashing!!!

The Blink fix applies to all versions of Vegas. But it only fixes crashes during rendering. If you crash at other times you have a different problem from the one Blink's fix fixes. But you also have that problem too - it's common to all versions of Vegas.

this is an on-going problem for me as well... haven't been able to figure it out yet. vegas 9c crashes randomly during editing, usually after 2-3 minutes of cutting. hardware isnt the issue IMO, (8-core workstation here) although I haven't ruled it out. I've had this problem on vista x64 and now, win 7 x64. I've been"creep" editing since i cant go back to vegas 8 on some projects. my recent edits are all done in premier now, at least until this gets resolved - if not by the end of the spring, I'll switch to a new NLE.

Yeh I was thinking Premiere....not sure tho...as I really like Vegas and am familiar with it.

I'm just guessing but the cause of your crashes may be related to the Microsoft Visual C++ runtime software. Visual C is the programming language used to develop Vegas, and, regrettably, there have been many versions of it over time. As I recall Vegas uses Ver. 5 but the current version is up to something like 8 or maybe even 10.

Your problem may be that you have multiple versions of the C++ runtime software installed on your system. This can happen when you install different programs that use different versions of the runtime: each installation installs its own copy of the runtime and this can lead to particular modules being overwritten or otherwise fouled up.

One way I've read about to fix this is to de-install Vegas, de-install the Visual C++ runtime software (this might break other software you have) and then reinstall Vegas.

You can read more about this by Googling Visual C++ Runtime. It's unfortunate indeed that MS has not been able to fix this kind of problem - it's called DLL Hell and has been in existence since Windows 1.0 was first released back in the stone age.

Can I put the full version of Vegas Pro 9 32 bit on a 64 bit system? Because the 32 bit trial works fine.

Yes you can, and if you have a licenced version of 64 bit you can also run 32 bit with the same license code.

You can actully run both on the same computer.
