Sony Vegas 9 Pro Render Help! Please!

It's ok, sorry for losing my cool. Coming from the software industry I'm used to get bug reports or questions that have the necessary info in place in order to solve a problem. Not your fault. :)

had the same problem at first my clip would come out like 14 gig n stuff like that so what i did was repass it in Ultra avi r winavi depending of usages n size got reasonable kept same format n fps

My vx2100 has a norml resolution of

720x480

and when i render that same size out of vegas i get black lines on each side of the video...

really annoying and ugly.

would 1280x720 be better or would i be loosing quality?

No. As I explained to you via direct messaging and here, you shot 4:3. The only resolution that is appropriate for your footage is 640x480. If you want widescreen, then simply switch your camera to widescreen and shoot as such. I know you told me via DM that you wouldn't start doing that now, after so long having that camera, but it's never too late to do it right. We're in 2010, so you should be shooting widescreen.

THERE ARE NO black bars in that video. You are seeing the black bars ONLY in that page:
http://vimeo.com/channels/jasonl#10191873 because that's how Vimeo DESIGNED that web page. If you watch the same video on its OWN page, there are NO black bars: http://vimeo.com/10191873 You are supposed to be watching the video's own page, not the "channel" one, which has a widescreen PAGE DESIGN. Vimeo assumes that most people shoot widescreen, and so they went with a generic page design that only caters to widescreen videos.

So please don't confuse things. When you say "there are black bars", you are telling us that the VIDEO has black bars, that was encoded that way, while this is NOT the case. What you're seeing is simply Vimeo's page design in the Channel view. Instead, use the video's own page to watch it as you're supposed to watch it.

Oh i see, strange because the 720x480 one looks fine on its own page then when you press play they appear non of the others do that

the other ones are just fine 640x480

and its best to leave it at its normal aspect 720 x 480

The normal aspect is not 720x480, it's 640x480. 720 is only before you apply the pixel aspect ratio to make the resolution square (which is what Vimeo REQUIRES). If you export at 720, then people will be stretched out.
