Do you guys who use SVP9 use the ffects it comes with or import effects from another programme into SVP9? As I find the SVP9 effects not all that great...unless you guys know how to create some cool effects I havnt seen before?

I'm wanting gun shot and blood effects, stuff like that, what would be the best programme? Thankyou.

Adobe AfterEffects is probably what you're after. But gun shot and blood are MUCH better done in camera, than in post.

Best of luck.

Look at ParticleIllusion. It has all sorts of really cool effects like the ones you're looking at. Its easy to learn. After effects does more in depth compositing for sure but has a mucch steeper learning curve. ParticleIllusion is one of the most fun programs to play with to me. You can learn the basics in a day. After Effect will take much longer to learn the basics but is more powerful.

Thanks dude. Yeh I had actually planned to do the blood in camera, just wasnt sure about gunshots. I also want to do some cool colour grading/correction...is SVP9 capable of this? I saw this DVX100b video on youtube and this guy showed the raw footage first then this blue effect added to it and it looked amazing. Gave it a dark and broody feel/look.

Thanks.

Hey thanks alot. Can I download ParticleIllusion?

I also want to give me film a certain look using colour grading/correction.

By the way, I have my first video ready to uplaod to facebook (just a 2 min video of my son playing) and i dont know how to render/compress and upload it lol.

Would you be willing to help me out or give me a link which explains it on here? Thanks alot.

Yeah magic bullet packages are always good and you can tweak it as you like.

As perrone said blood and gun fire is better when filming but if budget or time restrictions are a problem try http://www.detonationfilms.com/ they have some good gunfire and blood effects you can edit in for free.

Another option is if the gunfire is one shot and quick there are some great tutorials on making the effect in photoshop. and timing it in your video.

Hope that helps.

To be honest, I have always found that magic bullet runs so slowly that it's just not workable. You can't use the preview window at all other than for stills, you have to guess what it will look like. I've worked on many systems, including one of the latest and fastest i7 cpu's.

Used to be the case. If you have a fairly recent computer with a card that MB supports acceleration on it can do realtime depending on your preview settings.

Can you expand on this? I have a 1GB graphics card here, with an i7 920 cpu. This is a fairly recent computer, and the card (i assume you mean graphics card?) is one of the latest nvidia geforce cards, it wasn't cheap. This is hardly a mid-range PC. It also runs of raid striped HD's for speed.

What computer / card / preview settings would you suggest?
