Sony Time Lapse App Issue

I'm using the Sony Play Memories Time Lapse App on my A7s with a Commlite EF to E adapter and for some reason the app is stopping my time lapses before the intervals that I set.

For example, I set the app to take 400 pictures but the app stops after 200.

Yesterday I thought I had solved the issue when I noticed my Canon lens wasn't fully clicked into the adapter. Unfortunately I'm having the same issues with the app today and I'm sure the lens and adapter are locked in.

Thanks in advance!

Intervals were set to 400 and it's stopping at random frames. One time it was at 47, the next time at 215.

400 is the exposure. What interval (time between snaps) and what shutter speed? I've had instances on my GH4 timelapse were I wasn't paying attention and made the shutter speed longer than the interval so it only recorded part of the amount of frames I had specified. I was just wondering if something similar is happening here but if its stopped with different amounts under the same settings then I'm not sure what is going on.

Sorry, I didn't explain it properly.

App was set on Custom to take a photo every 4 seconds up to 400 frames. Shutter was set to 0.5" of a second.

hmm weird. Can't think of anything off the top of my head.

My gut is that it's an issue with the Commlite adapter and or lens. I'm not able to monitor the time lapse for the full duration so I've only caught it stopping once and it does so right after the shutter clicks. I'm guess the adapter looses connection very briefly with the lens due to the shutter. Just my thought.

That could be. Do you have any native lenses to test? Losing connection with the lens probably would stop the app.

Looking back at the files that stopped early I can clearly see the last frame has a big flash of light as if the lens was pulled off. There were a few files that didn't stop early and those don't have that flash. I will test a native lense and see what happens.

I have a lot of problems with the app using certain lenses. My canon 24-105 and tokina 11-16 won't work, keeps crashing the app. But my canon 70-200 and Rokinon lenses work fine. I'm using a metabones adapter.

I have had the same problem with my Canon 24-105 but haven't had the problem with the Tokina 11-16. I can't remember is I had the problem with the Sony 28-70.

I have the same probleme with my EF lens and a metabones adapter. I don't have a problem with my FD lens. So now a use a remote
