FS7: Sony SLOG to Colour Space Transform and ACES

Is there any advantage of doing it this way versus just applying a regular 3D Lut and making additional corrections as needed?

If you watch the videos then you'll see that it does apparently make a significant difference to some aspects of the colour processing, including tangible shifts on the G/R tint axis. Which method and which results you prefer could still be seen as a subjective choice, but it clearly makes a visible difference of some sort! :-)

Yep... we do this on every shoot now. The base image is far more pleasing to work with than the original s-log image.

I did quick test with a7iii slog footage and it looks great. Thanks for the tip! Will do more test with my fs700 later this week.

Color space transforms are mathematical transforms, LUT's are always interpolated.

Also color space transforms do not clip data while LUTs may clip data.
