[TD="width: 100%"]I've heard that the Sony SBACUS10 SxS Card Reader doesn't work with Mountain Lion.
Is this true?
What about Log & Transfer or XDCAM Browser?

Sony site says "Mac OS X (version 10.4 or later)" but then on specs page recommends 10.3 and 10.4. I would call your local Sony dealer and have them confirm for you.

What about Log & Transfer or XDCAM Browser?

I'm using the following with Mountain Lion... with no problems.

XDCam Browser v.2.1
SxS_Device_Driver_mac_v1.1.0.03142
SxSUDFDriver_v2.0.0

The SBACUS10 is just USB2 so I can't think why it wouldn't work?

Exactly the same for me with Mountain Lion, you gotta have XDCam Browser v2 if you are past 1.2 on the firmware for the F3. Works just fine

I was happy to stick with snow Leopard, but Apple repair dropped my and ruined my trusty 2009 MBP with expresscard slot. They are comping me a new MPB which is way more powerful than my old machine but driving me nuts trying to set up with my peripherals ( i.e. can't use my Matrox MXO anymore for color correction, esata drives a PITA etc.)

Anecdotally I've heard from a few people that the USB card reader won't work either which would be another PITA.
I can get a thunderbolt to Expresscard adapter but its an end of line device on Thunderbolt so what about monitoring etc etc etc etc.

It would simplify life if the SBACUS10 worked on the new machine and I would like to get everything set up before I get it so I don't end up with jobs I can't download cards on.

So my questions lies ou there - does anyone know if the SBACUS10 works on Mountain Lion?

Yes it does. My laptop is running Mountain Lion and I used it, along with the card reader for off load on a shoot all last week. No problems.

I have not heard about issues with the Sony card reader. I know there were some issues with people using the Express card slots, which I think required a driver update, but not sure on that.
