Sony says "discover true freedom of expression"

It's the leaked image camera. Hoping for a consumer/cheaper version announced as well.

hahaha good point Mitch, it does appear under "workflow/tutorials" so makes me wonder if its for Sony Vegas v20.

But.......

the tags on the article are

#mynextprocamera
#sonyxdcam

So my guess- it's a camera and it' an XDcam camera.

Don't know why everyone thinks it's an FS700 II. Someone show me the last time Sony did that.
The "rumored" price of being $9,995 I think is what has everyone thinking that way. The NEX code being dropped by Sony and XDCAM being used now for XAVC. Personally I think it's between the FS700 and F5 that's up and running. Moreso in the $12k range up and running. 4K in longGop as well if the PXW-X70 shows us anything. Thanks for the hint though Mitch ;)

Not trying to hint anything other than note that Sony rarely replaces a current camera with a Mk. 2 version.

And for everyone who has inundated me with requests for "what I know", forget it. If I did know anything, why would I be spilling beans? And since Sony has now publicly stated that details will be unveiled on the 12th, y'all are just going to have to wait a week for something concrete.

I think the FS700 mkII thing started because that's what it said on SonyAlphaRumors.

Also I think that most people who own a FS700 feel that it's almost perfect. There's just these tiny things that either annoy you or you feel could be "just a little better". Therefore, for me at least, the hope was that they would release a "FS100 successor" that had just those things that I wish the FS700 had... At a price of the current FS700 or lower.

For or me a slightly smaller/lighter form factor, XAVC, a bit more dynamic range, and no edge contrast issues is all I really need. Maybe 10bit out externally, wouldn't even really need it internally necessarily (although would be nice).

From Nino Leitner (in the Sony video) who actually saw the camera:

Let me just say this: The wait will be worth it. And if the camera fulfills what it promises, it will become a*VERY popular workhorse for filmmakers. And it will have a different name than what’s been rumored :-)

I am totally agnostic when it comes to manufacturer preference and I just go with the camera that works best for me, just like the rest of the team at cinema5D. I have been a “C300
*guy” for almost three years now and I still love that camera and use it all the time. But when the*Sony A7s
*was introduced, I fell in love again, and so did the rest of our team. We bought two of them and I have been shooting commercial projects with it from day 1.

The upcoming new Sony camera has the potential to become another camera that “just works” due to its design, features and extremely competitive pricing.

My guess: An S35 sized version of the A7s sensor in a plastic Sony body. Lots of buttons. Buttons everywhere & a dodgy viewfinder... ...I'm calling it an F7.

Not sure if it was the web compression, but the teaser looked horrible at my end. Hope it was shot on someone's iPhone and not Sony's shiny new camera. #mynextprocamera won't be the one that shot the trailer for #mynextprocamera.
