FS7: Sony Released 4.20 Firmware for FS7

The erudition on this site is overwhelming.

I appreciate a lot of your contributions Doug, and am a regular upvoter!

An interesting and amazing camera this PXW Z-90. Could it be a good camera for remote use (with remotely operated pan-tilt head) in nature? Did you test the 'Ustream®' feature? I wonder what the maximum distance is for the video stream.

Haha -
But Mr. T stole it from Bobby Blue Bland:

Credit where Credit is due. Of course He was talking about himself.

Hey Doug I was just watching your guide to Resolve and am digging it. I previously have tried to slog (pun intended) through Alexis Van Hurkman's tome, but its so long and complete I just get lost. I finally decided i needed something short and to the point to finally get me off my ass and switch over. Thanks for making it available and you do a very good job of isolating what's important.
I can always go back to Alexis for individual issues. Why does yours expire after 6 months?

- I don't always agree with you but I'm very glad you're here.

Lenny

Yes, that is great tune, thanks for the reminder. I enjoyed listening to it loudly so early in the morning and now I'm ready to jump into work.
Thanks for the kind comments about the video and I'm glad you are liking it. I just wanted to cut through the crap and produce the Resolve training video that I wish I had been able to watch four or five yours ago when I was first starting out with S-LOG and RAW. It would have saved me countless hours of figuring it out by trial and error. Like you said, there are some good Resolve tutorials out there by people who have forgotten more about Resolve them I will ever know, but I don't need that much detail and I don't want to be a colorist. I just want to get the best performance from my camera when shooting S-LOG/RAW and be able to "develop and print" my digital negatives so they look great -- and have fun doing it. I hope no one takes my comments here too seriously, I enjoy the debate, the differing points of view, and the occasional sniping. It's all good stuff.

Unfortunately I don't have an answer for you on either of those topics. I only had about a week with the Z90 before I had to send it back and neither of those things even came into my mind.

I second this too! The Resolve tutorial is very helpful. It brings to the point what's important for FS7 color corrections. I did not get lost in details I am never gonna use. Also AvH may have deep knowledge but his voice over makes me almost fall asleep after 10 mins. Is there a reason why your tutorials expire? This is a hindrance as I would have liked to review some parts of the FS7 hands on again.

It's great to hear that you liked the tutorial too. Cool. The time limit is dictated by shortcomings in Vimeo's VOD streaming service. If they ever create a more robust interface with more options for producers to choose from, things may change.
