So i started a new job and I am building a new equipment list. We have two canon 5d miii cameras and this big sony pwx-x320. I tested them and the sony does not seem like good quality. It originally sells for like 9,000 so i was wondering why they might have purchased this camera for corporate work and talking heads? am i missing something before i try to get them to sell it? Do people even buy cameras like this, b&h doesnt have it listed on the buy pack page. I assume nobody would want this on ebay either. Curious if we can get something for it on ebay or if im a moron and its really good at something i have overlooked?

The camera was nice at one point in time, but technology has drastically changed and its IQ is beyond inferior compared to today's modern offerings.

Prices for these cameras (brand new) barely ever change.

Some people continue to buy them for two reasons:

(1) It still has its uses in certain markets for certain content in which a shoulder camera is best.
(2) Ignorance is bliss.

Someone would probably grab it on eBay for a few hundred dollars, but it's better off just keeping it.

Even lenses are a very difficult decision for most people as more and more start to learn about remarkable AF advancements.

If one has committed to a C500/300 Mark II/III or a FX9, he or she will be set as the choice is clear.

P.S. Although time is related, it's mostly about the hardware.

It's a 1080p 1/2" sensor camera...practically obsolete for everyone besides some news networks and the like providing them to their staff.

Even though various older $6K, $9K 4K Super35 cameras struggle with their own value in today's times, most of them still sell for several thousand.
