SONY PMW-EX3 - NTSC/PAL question

Hello! I am about to travel to Europe and would like to share some of my footage with European friends. I have read somewhere that the EX3 bought here in the US allows for both NTSC and PAL formats. Can anyone confirm to me that it is true.

Also, as a more general question, what is the hardware difference between an NTC or PAL camera .. I am fairly new at this and quite a few people I talked to don't have a clear answer.

Yes it supports both Pal and NTSC as well as multiple frame rates for each standard. For the rest of you answers you need to spend time with the manual and loads of information provided by Sony for workflow management and the likes:

lol, in reality it doesn't really support NTSC or PAL capture as it has no SD mode.

However as Barry notes, it supports HD frame rates to match NTSC & PAL downconversions in post etc

Also, it does output SD in analogue and digital, so those are formatted in PAL or NTSC depending on the frame rates you select, which are determined by the NTSC/PAL setting in camera menu.
