I bought this EX1 from a friend about 6 months ago and it's fantastic but I don't need to own one anymore.
When it was purchased it went into a Sony repair centre for a firmware upgrade so that I could use SD cards in it. While they were upgrading the communication was interrupted resulting in the camera not powering on. The centre took responsibility and fully repaired the camera at a total cost to them of over £2000. As a result the hours meter is somewhat genuinely at 31 hours, as nearly all the major circuits inside the camera are brand new. The centre is currently building a case against sony, you can read some more about the upgrade issues here: http://forums.creativecow.net/thread/142/870022 - I don't want to name the repair company here but all details can be given privately. I have an invoice detailing the parts that were replaced.
Anyway, that's the only major thing about this camera. Most of the circuitry is brand new which is great! There's a scratch on the top plastic and there are a couple of areas where paint has come off, on the top handle and a small bit on the mic. It's missing the rubber cover for the AV/Component/USB sockets. Functionally it's faultless. It has a Hoya Pro1 Digital MC Protector fitted. Lens is perfect.
