Sony Bulletin | 07/01/2011: Sony is pleased to announce a significant improvement to the popular PMW-EX3 camcorder as a result of user feedback. To reflect this improvement, as of the end ofJune 2011, the product carton will be labeled as PMW-EX3/4.
The improvement to the PMW-EX3 is achieved through the implementation of a new lens, the same as what is currently used on its sibling, the PMW-EX1R. This new lens brings additional functionality to the PMW-EX3, notably:
- ONE-PUSH AUTO IRIS: A One-push Auto Iris button has been added to the lens, allowing the user to momentarily activate Auto Iris mode while this button is pressed.
- IMPROVED HAND GRIP: The original hand grip of the PMW-EX3has been improved to reflect the same enhancements as what was implemented in the PMW-EX1R. Basically, the shape and ergonomics of the grip itself have been improved to make it more comfortable in a variety of different shooting positions.
