Sony PMW-350K Camcorder of 2009

I'm going to announce my lawrie camcorder accessory of the year award as the new zacuto fleshlight mount, sounds like u need it hdwarrior! ;)

ChristianM "How much's that gone help Avid users that utilize AMA and skip the entire Clip browser?"

There is nothing to stop you using the Sony clip browser (Win) for the clips that are affected.

Scarlet has the potential to be up there but it won't be available till 2010 no one has seen or reviewed one in the flesh but this has great potential for the 2010 title.

Erm...

The PMW-350 hits all the right spots and is produced by a company who listens.

And Panasonic doesn't listen? Tell that to Jan Crittenden - US product manager for DVCPRO. DVXuser member since 2004.

FACT...1/4" and 1/3" chips are noisy in low light.

Noisier. 2/3" chips are noisy in low light. So are our eyes.

Fortunately the new XDCAM clip browser just released has "Flash Band Reduction" built in (V2.6).

As opposed to the Flash Band Compensation (same feature) that's built into the camera [real time, as you shoot] in the HPX300?

Sorry the Canony (see what I did there geddit?) BVW-5DMKII is the camera of the year

Wow. AWSOME!
Let me take a guess...
5D outputs HDMI to a nanoflash (controlled via GPI from the camera). Audio handled independently and then input to the Nanoflash. Or does it all go through a conversion to SDI for more options before going into the nanoflash?
Or is it recoding internally on the 5D and simply inputting the audio from the gear on the betacam side? Either way, I'm guessing there's Magic lantern in there.
And then the betacam's camera section looks at the 5D's LCD directly - using the 5D's LCD as an "electronic ground glass" for monitoring.

HPX300 (production model) was the noisiest camcorder I have see in the last 10 years, FlashBand Compensation does not make up for the 1/3" noisy chipset.
